The Band Party (Bajate Raho)

'Band Party' as they are known in Kolkata, dress up in bright uniforms and use mainly wind instruments, drums and percussions. They are available on hire as accompaniment to any festive occasion, be it a wedding procession or a religious festival and
brighten up the ceremonies.

The trade is gradually disappearing as less and less people opt for such accompaniments..

Director's View
I would call The Band Party a struggle to keep alive, by a kind of musicians, and their music.

The Band party is only one of the kinds of music, most affordable, by most of the people in India. The people playing for the Band may not be well trained, yet they have a unique music flowing out from them.

But in recent times they are facing extinction, from problems of various kinds.
"The Band Party, Bajate Raho- (Keep Playing)"

I have tried to keep the film as musical and as colourful as possible.

My effort is to make the audience understand their language, from the music they bring out… hopefully!
